HOME | Canada | Mexico | Africa | UK I have been working with Code Pink Austin,(women for peace) especially supporting the active duty solldiers up in Ft Hood, about an hour away outside of Kileen, Texas. Ft Hood is the biggest army base in the world and we have raised money and opened a GI Rights coffee house called Under the Hood Cafe. We welcome all soldiers and vets and they can receive GI Rights counseling and also help if they want to resist or go awol. It is a big deal. It is also just a safe place be away from the oppressiveness of the barracks. It is a weird feeling to be with anti-war soldiers. But the are brave. It is hard for me to talk about myself but I have been working on this raising money and publicizing it . underthehoodcafe.org. I am also re-starting and austin chapter of the Committee in solidarity with the people of El Salvador. THe left party;, FMLN just won elections after years of right wig military and death squad rule and we are trying to prevent a US intervention or destabilization of the government. We have salvadoran immigrants on our committee. I was in this group 1980 to 87 ad am glad we are renewing it.Heroes in USA

Singing and dancing since age 3, Orlene Gentile started her work as an educator by teaching Filipino folk dance in 1990. She cut her teeth as a variety entertainer on the streets of India, Vietnam and the back woods of Thailand. She has taught circus, gymnastics and dance since 1999. She was President and Festival Co-Director of the American Youth Circus Organization from 2004 to 2008.
Together, Orlene & Carlo have been teaching and directing circus programs for the past eleven years. In 2002, Carlo and Orlene founded Fool Time Circus, an ensemble of teachers/performing artists dedicated to building confidence and expanding life choices through recreational circus arts. Both are graduates of Santa Clara University and the San Francisco Circus Center's Clown Conservatory. But, it took multiple trips to China for the perfection of their foot juggling number. Since creating that act, they’ve toured the Midwestern and Eastern USA on the Zoppé Family Circus in 2004. More recently, they performed with Switzerland's Circus Monti. Currently the Gentile Quattro (including their two children Gianluca 2 1/2 and Giulia 1) are again touring the US with the Zoppé Family Circus.
